The wind power gearbox is the core component of the wind turbine transmission system. 1. Advantages of CNC machining in wind power gearbox production

CNC machining is an automated machining technology based on computer control, which can accurately control the motion trajectory of the tool to ensure that the size, shape and surface quality of the gear meet high standards. In the manufacturing of wind power gearboxes, the advantages of CNC machining are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

High-precision control: CNC machine tools control the tool feed through computer programs, which can achieve micron-level accuracy and ensure that the gear pitch, tooth shape and tooth direction meet strict tolerance requirements.

Strong stability: Traditional manual or ordinary machine tool processing is easily affected by operator experience and environmental factors, while the automated operation of CNC processing greatly improves production consistency and ensures that each batch of gears meets the standards.

Complex shape processing capability: Wind power gearboxes usually need to process large modulus and high-strength gears. CNC machine tools can achieve efficient processing of complex gear shapes through five-axis linkage technology.

 

2. How does CNC processing ensure high-precision gear production?

In the manufacturing process of wind power gearboxes, CNC processing mainly involves the following key links to ensure the high precision of gears:

 

(1) Material selection and pretreatment

High-quality gears require the use of high-strength, wear-resistant alloy steels such as 20CrMnTi, 42CrMo, etc. Before CNC processing, the material usually needs to be forged, annealed or normalized to improve the uniformity of the metal and reduce internal stress to ensure the stability of subsequent processing.

(2) Precision CNC turning and milling

During the rough machining stage, CNC lathes are used to preliminarily shape the shaft hole, outer diameter and end face of the gear, while CNC milling machines are used to process the basic contour of the tooth shape. The high rigidity and precision control system of CNC machine tools ensure the dimensional accuracy of this process.

 

(3) CNC gear hobbing and gear grinding process

Gear hobbing is an important step in gear machining. High-precision gear machining can be achieved through CNC gear hobbing machines, while the final gear grinding process determines the final accuracy and finish of the gear. CNC gear grinding machines can use precise grinding wheels and computer-controlled compensation technology to ensure that the surface roughness of the gear reaches Ra0.2μm or less, and the accuracy level can reach ISO 4-5.

 

(4) CNC inspection and error compensation

In order to ensure that each gear meets strict quality standards, three-coordinate measurement (CMM) or laser measurement is usually required after CNC machining to accurately detect the tooth shape, pitch and tooth direction. If a small error is detected, the CNC machine tool can automatically compensate for the processing based on the measurement results to ensure that the accuracy of the final product meets the standard.
